Fables by Plik-plik, the old watering can that drips.
- Please Plik Plik tell us a Christmas story …
Alright children, this story takes place in China at the Emperors palace, a long time ago when oranges had wings.
- Wings ?
When winter comes the orange trees are covered in beautiful round oranges that all the children dream of.
(Photo LOF - The imperial family why is John Lemon green ? )
And in that time, on Christmas eve all the oranges would fly away to land on the pillows of children that had been good all year long.
And it is since then that children receive presents on Christmas eve.
So… Once upon a time a grand emperor of China, the powerful Ranja the 1st, and the empress, the beautiful Maltese Sanguine, lived happily in their magnificent palace.
The emperor & his empress enjoyed walking in the garden and everyday there were concerts.
Both of them loved music.
Their son John Lemon had started his own band with angels from Portugal.

The empress was always laughing and happy, except of course right after Christmas when all their orange subjects flew away to be eaten by children.
The day after Christmas, Sanguine would cry to see the orange trees so sadly empty.
(Photo LOF - She looks pretty sad )
One day the empress had an idea !
To keep the oranges at the palace she decided to get the gardener Santa and his flying reindeer to deliver chocolates instead.
But the Swiss guards didn’t have enough (as they ate a fair share themselves).
(Photo LOF - they ate so much chocolate that their skin broke out! )
She got the craziest offers.
Nuts and ostrich eggs both offered to hang around on the trees instead of the oranges.
The solution came from Ranja “I consulted the Rice Paddy Fairy so that you will never again be so sad at Christmas” he admitted to Sanguine.
She said that if Lemon marries the Japanese princess C. Masball, a brilliant, delicate being, (however, anyway you look at it, a foreigner without wings) we will have lots of grandchildren and great grand children that will look magnificent in the trees at Christmas … and won’t fly away.
Ah you know flying isn’t all its cracked up to be, answered Sanguine, its even quite dangerous when there’s a bit of wind.
And I’m not sure that you’ve noticed but Lemon even stops playing music when C. Masball passes by,
so…..
The emperor quietly negotiated with the ambassador of Japan.
(Photo LOF - get me a good price on a Nintendo and the princess can marry my son, wings or no )
Marrying C. Masball was a dream come true for Lemon.
C. Masball who had a lovely head with nothing at all inside it, was quite pleased as well.
They lived happily ever after and had many children.
It is their children and their children’s children that you can see on Christmas trees today and it is since then that oranges don’t fly.
(Photo LOF - the Emperor, C. Masball (pink with pleasure) and the ambassador. And is that a journalist behind ? )
Now children, if you don’t believe me just tell me if you’ve ever seen an orange with wings ?
Oh, I love those fairy-tales in English so much. This one is really amazing ! Thanks Ann.

I did not knew that the emperor was Nintendo addicted. What a shame for a grown up winged orange.
