Cocktail hour is a necessity here, especially in March when the sun sets just at the right time for an apéritif.
Dusk with a glass in hand - difficult to have it any better.
Champagne ultra brut, blanc sec, or a long drink in the garden ? The right answer is number n°3, quick to make , drinks at LOF are a pleasure that it is recommended to indulge in.
Fill your pitcher with 75 cl of good water (her its Luso), cut a ripe star fruit in slices couper (two of them if you prefer a stronger flavour) add the insides of a passion fruit.
Star fruit grows here but it is difficult to get it to fruit. Passion fruit grows and fruits with joy and abandon..
Leave the pitcher in the refrigerator all day . At cocktail hour, filter it into a carafe. Add the juice of 1/2 a lemon (not a lime), not too much.
Serve cold
Star fruit doesn't need sugar although alot of recipes seem to be sweet deserts. In the Philippines they eat it as a savoury dish.It does however depend on the variety some are tarter than others.
The maceration creates a light drink that will remind you of a vodka/passion fruit mix.
