This recipe is Lydia’s. It's what known as a hungry mans dish - as you eat you can feel your belt slowly tightening. This is not a delicate refined “nouvelle cuisine" with 3 green beans recipe this is for real, you need a large deep plate and a spoon to finish the sauce type dish.

Cook in a little olive oil: 6 tomatoes and a large onion cut in large pieces, a green pepper (green is important) cut in strips, 2 or 3 garlic cloves and a little salt. Add water to cover the vegetables and cook for about 15 minutes. Remove all the vegetables and put them through a vegetable mill (?) a really modern kitchen device that dates from the beginning of time. (see photo) this will eliminate the skin and seeds.. Return your vegetable purée to the water you cooked it in (I hope you didn’t throw it out !) and add a small handful of rice from alentejo per person. Let boil for 10 minutes. Cut the rest of your green pepper in small cubes and chop some fresh coriander. When the rice is cooked add these last few ingredients and cover. Let it sit for 5 minutes and serve the Arroz de Tomates swimming in its sauce.
All table conversation ceases. You can hear the wind in the palm trees and the sound of forks on plates. From time to time someone asks for a bit more rice.

merci de ton attention,
sur le blog cuisine du jardin 60% des visiteurs viennent de France,
80% de France+Canada+Belgique+Suisse.
10% Afrique du nord
10% reste du monde (presque partout et assez peu du Portugal)
donc 85% des visiteurs viennent de pays où ils ne peuvent pas cultiver et difficilement trouver
la majorité des fruits et légumes que nous cultivons et cuisinons
en premier lieu les agrumes
soit on change de cuisine et on se met à la pâtisserie comme tout le monde
soit on passe à l'anglais
nous profitons de dédoubler le blog cuisine du jardin pour dédoubler les noms des photos (qui sont en ce moment en 4 langues)
ça devrait faciliter la recherche sur google image
qui représente le 1/3 de notre trafic...
