Steamed spinach or "épinards à la vapeur "
Now we know why the french are such excellent cooks. Its all a question of language.

I can't imagine enjoying steamed spinach at all yet les "épinards à la vapeur" are fabulous. A wonderful aroma, an incredibly spinachy (as in good) taste.
Even just the word spinach in english is terrible. Its almost as bad as liver.
Yet steamed spinach in our new steam oven (you can of course use any of a zillion ways to steam) is delicious with nothing at all, no olive oil nor butter nor cream - just spinach.
Steam young spinach shoots for 6 minutes, adolescents 7 minutes and adults 8 minutes.
